    Update #69     October 11, 2018

    Dear AMFA Brothers and Sisters:

The Negotiating Committee is providing this update to the AMFA Membership at Southwest Airlines. This report is the only official authorized source of negotiating communications by the Committee.

The AMFA–SWA AMT Rejected Tentative Agreement (TA) Survey concluded at 11:59 PM ET on October 9, 2018. The AMFA–SWA Negotiating Committee had called for this survey of the membership following the recent rejection and overwhelming disappointment of the AMFA-SWA AMT TA. We would like to thank all of you who participated in the survey. Your feedback will help guide your Negotiating Committee to pursue an agreement worthy of the membership's approval. Next week your Negotiating Committee will be meeting to review and analyze the survey data and membership comments, which will be used to prepare a proposal to present at our next negotiation session.

We contacted the Mediator on October 10, 2018, to request dates to reconvene mediated bargaining sessions. The Mediator offered November 19-20 or December 3-4 to resume negotiations, and we have agreed to meet November 19-20. The Company has informed the Mediator they are not available on December 3-4.

As we continue with the negotiation process and fight for what is justifiably yours, remain strong. Please be aware of future threats. As we predicted in our roadshow, the Company will continue to, and recently has, resort to more scare tactics as a means to pressure our group.

Thank you for your continued support and participation. We will keep you updated once we have dates scheduled.

    Your Negotiating Committee
