    Local 4 Members:

As you may or may not know Local 4 has a Welfare Fund. This fund provides five $1000 Educational Scholarships annually, gives assistance to members in dire financial need as well as sending flowers or making a charitable donation at the members request in the name of the deceased. In order to provide flowers for funerals for a member who lost a Mother, Father, Child, Step Child or a Committed Partner we need your assistance in notifying us of the members’ loss in a timely manner.

A new link has been created on our home page under “Important Links” on the AMFA Local 4 home page (www.amfa4.com) labeled Funeral Notification. Losing a family member is a tragic event, often a grieving member will make a call into work notifying the company of their loss and request bereavement time off. The news of an event like this isn’t always readily available to us or is gained only by word of mouth. Using this link will allow you as fellow member to take care of your union brothers and sisters by notifying Local 4 of a fellow members’ loss. This will allow Local 4 ample time to provide sympathy flowers or a donation on behalf of you the membership to the grieving coworker and family.
