The Negotiating Committee is providing this update to the AMFA Membership at Southwest Airlines. This report is the only official authorized source of negotiating communications by the Committee.

We concluded this week’s mediated session working diligently as a Committee in an effort to finalize a counterproposal to the comprehensive proposal the Company delivered earlier this week. Unfortunately, this proved to be a very time consuming task as the Company’s proposal did not identify the language it had removed from current book or previous passes.  This forced your Committee to undertake the lengthy process of comparing the Company’s latest proposal word-by-word against current book and prior proposals.  We were unable to finalize our counterproposal, but will be prepared to deliver a comprehensive counterproposal at or before the next session scheduled for July 17, 18, and 19.

The Committee will deliver a counterproposal to the Company that represents what you, the members, have indicated you deserve for your dedicated commitment to this Company’s success.

Stay informed, stay engaged, and, as always, judge the Company on its actions and not on its words.

    Your Negotiating Committee
