RE: Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMT) Day

Today, we celebrate the great work of Aviation Maintenance Technicians who ensure the safety and reliability of aircraft. As we celebrate Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) Day, it is important to reflect on the contributions of individuals like Charles Taylor, who played a pivotal role in the history of aviation maintenance. Charles Taylor, also born on this day in 1868, is widely recognized as the world's first aircraft mechanic, having worked closely with the Wright brothers to build and maintain their aircraft. His expertise and dedication laid the foundation for modern aircraft maintenance practices and set a high standard for professionalism in the field.

AMT Day serves as a reminder of the important role that Aircraft Maintenance Technicians play in ensuring the safety and airworthiness of aircraft. Today is dedicated to recognizing these skilled professionals and the hard work they accomplish behind the scenes to inspect, repair, and maintain aircraft. Their expertise and dedication are essential in keeping our skies safe and our aircraft operational.

In addition to paying tribute to Charles Taylor's legacy and those who have followed in his footsteps, let us honor the contributions made by all Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. Your tireless efforts behind the scenes do not go unnoticed, and we appreciate the professionalism you bring to work everyday. We are proud to have you as a member of our Union.

Thank you for all that you do, and happy AMT Day to all!

In Solidarity,
